What is PDF duplicate page removal?

Duplicate page removal means finding pages with identical content inside a single PDF and dropping the extra copies before you export it again. It is handy after merging documents or scanning batches that accidentally repeat a page.

Tool description

This tool loads one PDF, renders every page, and automatically compares them to detect pages with identical content. Detected duplicates are pre-selected for removal, and you can review each page, adjust the selection, and download the cleaned-up PDF.

Features

  • Works with one PDF at a time
  • Automatically detects pages with identical content
  • Lets you review, select, or deselect any page before exporting
  • Shows which page a duplicate matches
  • Select all detected duplicates or clear the selection in one click

How it works

The PDF is rendered locally in the browser, and each page's pixel content is hashed to find exact matches. Pages sharing a hash with an earlier page are flagged as duplicates and marked for removal by default. When you download, the pages you kept are copied into a new document in their original order.

Tips

  • Use preview before export if you want to check a flagged page in detail.
  • Manually mark or unmark any page, not just detected duplicates, before downloading.
  • This only catches pages with identical content; pages that only look similar are left untouched.
