What is ITF-14?

ITF-14 is the barcode on cartons and cases of products, such as the boxes products are shipped to stores in. It encodes a 14-digit GTIN-14 in Interleaved 2 of 5, a barcode that prints well even on corrugated cardboard. The first digit is a packaging indicator that tells packaging levels apart, such as a box of 6 and a box of 24, the next 12 are the GTIN-13 of the product inside without its check digit, and the last is a new check digit.

Tool description

Enter 13 digits and the tool calculates the check digit and draws the barcode. Enter all 14 and it checks the last one, so a mistyped number shows an error instead of a barcode. Change the bar and background colors, hide the digits if you don't need them, and download the barcode as a PNG, JPG or WebP image.

Features

  • Check digit - calculated from 13 digits, or checked when you enter 14
  • GTIN-14 - the number of a case, made from the number of the product inside
  • Custom colors - any color for the bars and the background
  • Image download - PNG, JPG or WebP

Tips

  • To make the number of a case, enter its packaging indicator followed by the first 12 digits of the product's EAN-13, and let the tool add the check digit.
  • Use a different packaging indicator for each kind of case of the same product.
  • ITF-14 is read in warehouses and at goods receiving, not at checkouts: products sold one by one need an EAN-13 or UPC-A barcode.
