Tool description

This tool connects to a RadiaCode radiation detector over Bluetooth and shows what the device says about itself. It is handy for checking which firmware a device runs before an update, noting the serial number for a warranty claim, or looking at the energy calibration.

The overview lists the Bluetooth name, serial number, hardware ID, firmware and bootloader versions with their build dates, the firmware file and signature, the spectrum format and the three energy calibration coefficients. Two more tabs show the device's configuration file and its list of registers as the device reports them, and both can be downloaded.

How it works

The tool uses the Web Bluetooth API to connect to the device and sends the RadiaCode protocol requests that read the version, serial number, calibration and configuration. It only reads from the device and changes nothing on it. Everything happens in your browser, and nothing is sent to a server.

Tips

  • A RadiaCode accepts one Bluetooth connection at a time. Disconnect the phone app before connecting here.
  • Web Bluetooth works in Chrome, Edge and Opera on computers and Android. Firefox and Safari do not support it.
  • The tools need firmware 4.8 or newer. If yours is older, update it with the official app.
