Why convert slides to images?
A PowerPoint slide needs presentation software to open, but an image opens anywhere. Slides as PNG or JPG files can go into a blog post, a social media post, a chat message, a document or a video editor, and they look the same on every device because nothing depends on installed fonts or software. Images are also handy as thumbnails of a deck, or to share one slide without sending the whole presentation.
Tool description
This tool converts the slides of a PowerPoint presentation (.pptx) to images. Choose a file and each slide is drawn in your browser and saved as a picture, with its text, shapes, pictures, tables, charts and slide master backgrounds. The slides appear in a grid as they're converted: click one to see it full size, download it on its own, or download all slides as a ZIP.
Pick PNG for sharp text and lossless quality, or JPG for smaller files, which suits slides with photos. The scale sets the image size: at 1× a widescreen slide is 960 × 540 pixels, at 2× it's Full HD (1920 × 1080) and at 4× it's 4K (3840 × 2160). The exact size of your images shows above the slides.
Show files (.ppsx), templates (.potx) and macro-enabled presentations (.pptm) work too. Old .ppt files and presentations protected with a password can't be read: save them as .pptx without a password first.
Features
- PNG or JPG images of every slide
- Sizes from 1× to 4×, with charts redrawn sharp at each size
- Widescreen, 4:3 and custom slide sizes
- Download one slide, or all slides as a ZIP with numbered file names
- Nothing uploaded: the presentation is converted in your browser
How it works
The tool opens the .pptx archive and reads the slide size, the masters, layouts and theme, and every slide. Each slide is drawn as HTML and SVG with the same positions, colors and fonts as in PowerPoint, then painted onto a canvas at the scale you chose and saved as an image. Charts are redrawn at the image's resolution rather than enlarged, so their lines and labels stay crisp.
Tips
- Text uses the fonts installed on your device. Slides in fonts you don't have, such as Calibri on a Mac without Office, are drawn with a similar font
- Use 2× for presentations, documents and social media, and 4× for print or large screens
- To publish the whole deck as a web page with selectable text, use the Presentation to HTML Converter
FAQ
Is my presentation uploaded to a server? No. The file is read and converted in your browser and never leaves your device.
Are animations kept? No. Each image shows the slide as it looks after all its animations.
Why do my images look slightly different from PowerPoint? The slides are drawn by the browser, not by PowerPoint. Missing fonts, rare effects such as 3D and some chart details can look a little different.
