What makes a good name badge?
People read a name badge from a few steps away, so the name should be the biggest thing on it, the first name most of all. Job title and company come next, and a colored band for the role, such as Speaker or Staff, shows who to ask for help.
Tool description
Type the event name and a line for the date, venue or tagline, and add a logo. They go in a header band in your accent color at the top of every badge.
Add people on the List tab with name, job title, company, role and pronouns, or paste rows on the CSV tab. "Import CSV or spreadsheet" reads CSV, TSV and text files, or the first sheet of an XLSX, XLS or ODS file. Without a header row the columns are Name, Job title, Company, Role, Pronouns, Email and Link. With one, column names from ticketing exports work too, such as First name, Last name or Ticket type.
Each badge shows the name, with the first name extra large when "Large first name" is on, then pronouns, job title and company. The role prints in a band at the bottom. An optional QR code holds a contact card (vCard) or the Link column.
Pick one of seven badge sizes, such as 4 × 3 in for badge holders, A6 or an ID card, or set your own in mm. The tool fits as many badges on each A4 or Letter page as it can, and the PDF is made in your browser. You can also sort by last name and add blank badges for people who sign up at the door.
