What is an image X ray filter?
An X ray style filter is a visual effect that inverts and recolors an image so it looks like a glowing radiograph. It is a style tool, not a medical one.
Tool description
This tool turns a normal image into an X ray inspired version. You can adjust the intensity, contrast, glow, tint color, and scanlines, then export the result as PNG, JPG, or WebP.
Features
- Applies an X ray look with live preview
- Lets you tune intensity, contrast, glow, tint color, and scanlines
- Exports in PNG, JPG, or WebP format
How it works
The tool reads the image in the browser, draws it to a canvas, and remaps the colors with an inverted luminance pass. It then applies the glow and scanline effects before exporting the finished image.
Tips
- Strong shapes and high contrast subjects usually look best.
- Use PNG when you want the cleanest output, or JPG and WebP when file size matters.
- The scanlines option gives the effect a more classic radiograph feel.
