What is mesh warping?

Mesh warping lays a grid over an image and lets you move the points where its lines cross. Each part of the picture follows the points around it, so you can bend one corner or curve a straight edge and leave the rest alone. It's handy for mockups, such as a flat label that has to follow the curve of a mug, and for small fixes in one part of a picture.

Tool description

Drop a JPG, PNG, WebP, GIF, BMP or AVIF image on the tool and a 3 by 3 grid appears on the preview, with a handle at every crossing. Drag the handles and the image bends with them. The warp runs smoothly through the points, so the grid lines curve instead of making sharp corners. Grid columns and Grid rows go from 1 to 8, and a finer grid bends smaller areas. Changing the grid or clicking Reset puts all points back. You can drag points outside the image, and the dashed line shows the part that will be downloaded.

Under Export settings, pick PNG, JPG or WebP, a Resampling mode, and the Canvas: "Fit to the warped image" or "Keep the original size", which cuts off what falls outside. Empty areas stay transparent unless you turn on "Fill the background", and JPG always gets the background color. The full size image is rendered in your browser, so nothing is uploaded.

Features

  • Grid of 1 to 8 columns and rows with draggable points
  • Smooth bends, with guides that follow the warp
  • PNG, JPG or WebP download at the full size of your image

Tips

Click a handle and nudge it with the arrow keys, one screen pixel per press or ten with Shift. N selects the next point and Shift+N the one before.
