What is a working days calendar?
A working days calendar marks which days of the year are working days and which are days off, and counts the working days in each month. Days off are the weekend days plus the public holidays of a country. People use these counts to plan projects and deadlines, work out salaries, working hours, and daily rates, and to schedule leave.
Tool description
This tool shows a whole year of working days, weekend days, and public holidays for the country you pick, on one calendar. It counts the working days, days off, and public holidays for the year and for each month, and lists the holidays under each month.

How it works
The tool takes the public holidays of the chosen country and year from the open source date-holidays library, including substitute days for holidays that fall on a weekend and every day of multi-day holidays such as Eid. A day is a working day unless it is one of the checked weekend days or a public holiday. Days off count each day once, so a holiday on a Saturday is still one day off.
On the calendar, working days are blue, weekend days are gray, and public holidays are red. The week starts on the first day of the week from your regional settings until you pick another one.
Notes
- Only national public holidays count. Holidays of single states or regions, bank holidays, and observances are not days off here.
- Half-day holidays, such as those that start at noon, are left out.
- Islamic holidays follow calculated dates, which can differ by a day from the dates announced after the moon sighting.
- Some countries move working days to weekends around holidays, as in Russia and China. These swaps are not included.
