What is wide text?

Wide text is a Unicode presentation style that replaces normal Latin characters with their fullwidth counterparts. The result makes text look stretched and is often associated with vaporwave or retro internet aesthetics.

This is a character mapping effect, not a font effect, so the transformed text can be copied and pasted as actual Unicode characters.

Tool description

This tool converts regular text to vaporwave-style wide text and back again using the shared wide-text converter. It is a simple bidirectional text transformation for decorative output.

It is useful when you want stylized text for headings, social posts, or playful copy.

Examples

  • Hello, world! → fullwidth output
  • A sentence that mixes letters, numbers, and punctuation

Features

  • Bidirectional conversion
  • Coverage for letters, numbers, and common punctuation
  • Swappable input and output direction

Limitations

Only characters covered by the mapping table are changed. Unsupported characters pass through unchanged.

The tool changes text style, not typography, so the result depends on Unicode support wherever you paste it.
