What is RDAP?

RDAP, the Registration Data Access Protocol, is the modern structured replacement for legacy WHOIS lookups. It returns registration data in JSON instead of a plain-text format, which makes the results easier to parse and display consistently.

RDAP records can vary by registry, but they usually include domain status, events, nameservers, and contact-related metadata.

Tool description

This tool performs an RDAP lookup for a domain and shows both the raw server response and a parsed summary. It sends the request through the backend and formats the returned data for easier reading.

It is helpful when you want a structured domain registration lookup without manually querying an RDAP server.

Examples

  • example.com
  • github.com
  • Any public domain you want to inspect

Features

  • Raw and parsed views of the lookup result
  • Copyable parsed fields for quick reuse
  • Downloadable raw JSON response

Limitations

The tool depends on the backend API and a valid Turnstile token.

Parsed fields are best-effort and some array values are flattened into newline-separated text, so the display can differ from the original RDAP payload.
