How can a QR code have a logo in the middle?

QR codes carry extra data for repairing damage, called error correction. At the highest level, a scanner can rebuild the message even when about 30% of it is missing. A logo in the center hides part of the code, and error correction fills in the gap, so the code still scans.

Tool description

The QR Code with Logo Generator puts your logo in the center of a QR code for a link, text or any other data. It always uses the high error correction level and clears the modules under the logo, leaving one empty module around it so the logo doesn't touch the code.

Pick a PNG, JPEG, WebP, GIF or SVG image and set its size from 10% to 25% of the code's width. Larger logos hide more of the code than some versions can repair, so the size stops at a quarter. Very short texts get a slightly larger code, so there is enough data around the logo. Choose the colors and download the result as PNG, JPG, WebP or SVG. In the SVG file, an SVG logo stays a vector.

Features

  • Logo from PNG, JPEG, WebP, GIF or SVG, centered with a clear border
  • Logo size from 10% to 25% of the code's width
  • PNG, JPG, WebP and SVG downloads

Tips

Scan the downloaded code with a couple of phones before printing it. Logos with transparent backgrounds look best, since the space around them takes the background color.
