What is MeCard format?
MeCard is a data format for encoding contact information in QR codes, developed by NTT DoCoMo in Japan. It's a lightweight alternative to vCard that was specifically designed for mobile devices and QR code applications. MeCard Format Details
MeCard uses a semicolon-separated format with the following fields:
- N: Name (required)
- SOUND: Reading/pronunciation of name (useful for Japanese names)
- TEL: Phone number
- TEL-AV: Video phone number
- EMAIL: Email address
- MEMO: Note or memo
- BDAY: Birthday (YYYYMMDD format)
- ADR: Address
- URL: Website URL
- NICKNAME: Nickname
