What is the DualSense Edge?
The DualSense Edge is Sony's pro version of the PS5 controller. It adds two back buttons, Fn buttons for switching profiles, trigger stops and stick modules you can swap out. When a stick starts to drift, you replace the module instead of the whole controller, so it's worth checking which stick is the problem first.
Tool description
This tester shows what your DualSense Edge sends to the browser. Connect it with a USB-C cable or Bluetooth and press any button, since browsers only show a controller once one of its buttons is pressed.
The gamepad picture lights up ✕, ○, □, △, L1, R1, Create, Options and the PS button as you press them, fills L2 and R2 as far as you pull them and moves the sticks. L3 and R3 are the stick presses, and pressing the touchpad down lights it up between the sticks. Under the picture, each button has a tile with how far it's pressed, and both sticks show their exact X and Y position from -1 to 1.
The back buttons show up as the buttons you assigned to them, so a back button set to ✕ lights up ✕. With the trigger stops set, you can see how far L2 and R2 read at each stop.
Checking the sticks
Let go of both sticks. A healthy stick rests close to zero, like 0.0039. A value that stays around 0.1 or more, or changes on its own, means that stick module drifts. Pushed all the way, each stick should get close to -1 or 1 in every direction.
Features
