Calculation Method

The calculator uses a simple but accurate formula:

  • Cost per cigarette = Price per pack ÷ Cigarettes per pack
  • Daily cost = Cigarettes per day × Cost per cigarette
  • Weekly cost = Daily cost × 7
  • Monthly cost = Daily cost × 30.44 (average days per month)
  • Yearly cost = Daily cost × 365
  • Long-term costs = Yearly cost × number of years
