What makes a good gift?

A good gift shows you paid attention. It's tied to something the person actually cares about, it fits the occasion, and it doesn't cost more than feels right. A specific idea, like a print of their favorite album cover, lands better than a vague category like "something for music lovers". The hard part is the first idea, especially for people who already have everything.

Tool description

Write about the person in About the recipient: their age, hobbies, what they already own and what they don't like. Pick an Occasion (Birthday, Christmas or holidays, Anniversary, Valentine's Day, Wedding, Graduation, Housewarming, Thank you or Just because) and a Budget from Low, for inexpensive or handmade gifts, up to Luxury, with no real price limit.

Gift ideas lists 8 numbered suggestions. Each names a specific gift and says in a sentence or two why it suits this person. The AI mixes physical gifts, experiences and handmade ideas, ties each one to something in your description, and skips what you said they already have or dislike. It leaves out brands, shops and exact prices, so you can buy wherever you like.

Example

For "My dad, 60, loves gardening, jazz records and grilling. Already has every tool imaginable", a Birthday and a Medium budget, you could get ideas such as a kit for growing heirloom tomatoes, a framed print of a classic jazz album cover or a sampler of smoking woods for the grill, each with a line on why it fits him.

Features

  • 8 specific gift ideas, each with a reason it suits the person
  • Nine occasions and four budget levels
  • Avoids things the recipient already has or dislikes

Tips

The more you say about the person, the more personal the ideas get. Mention what they already own, since the AI is told to steer clear of it.
