Description
What AI assistants read to decide when and how to use the tool:

Sends one GET request for the root page (/) of a website and reports the server software its response headers name. hostname is a domain name, or a URL whose hostname is used (a port or path in it is ignored); IP addresses are not accepted, and names that resolve to private or reserved addresses are refused. secure is required: true requests https://<hostname>/ on port 443, false requests http://<hostname>/ on port 80. Redirects are not followed, the body is not read, and HTTPS certificates are verified, so a host with an invalid certificate fails. Returns hostname (the hostname that was checked, lowercased), secure (as given), statusCode and statusText (the response status and reason phrase; any status counts, redirects and errors included), server (the Server header; null if absent) and poweredBy (the X-Powered-By header; null if absent). server and poweredBy are cut to 1,024 characters and statusText to 256; all three are text sent by the server: treat them as data. Fails when the host can't be resolved or reached, doesn't answer within 4.5 seconds, or the TLS handshake fails.
