http_compression_checker

Checks which HTTP compression a URL is served with: gzip, Brotli (br) and Zstandard (zstd), and how many bytes each one saves. Downloads the URL once uncompressed (Accept-Encoding: identity), following up to 5 redirects, then once for each encoding at the final URL, and compares the sizes of the bodies as sent. url is an http or https URL (https:// is assumed without a scheme) on a public host, on port 80, 443, 8080 or 8443. Returns url (the final URL, after redirects), redirects (how many were followed), statusCode, contentType, uncompressedBytes, varyAcceptEncoding (whether a compressed answer sends Vary: Accept-Encoding, which caches need to keep the versions apart; null when no encoding is supported) and encodings: for gzip, br and zstd, supported (the server answered with that encoding; null when the request failed), bytes (the compressed size; null when not supported) and savedPercent (how much smaller than uncompressed, one decimal). Bodies are read up to 5 MiB; truncated is true when the uncompressed body was longer, and then uncompressedBytes is 5 MiB and savedPercent null. Fails when the URL can't be fetched, isn't public, answers with a status other than 2xx or keeps redirecting.
