How to Generate a Color Palette with AI

To generate a color palette, open the AI color palette generator. Describe the mood you want and click "Generate Palette". You get a set of colors that fit together. Each color has a copy button next to it, and you can choose the value format: HEX, RGB, HSL, or HSV.
Choosing colors by hand is hard. One color often does not fit the others, and it is not clear how to fix it. Describing the mood in words is much easier. The AI turns your description into colors.
How to generate a palette
- Type a short description in the Prompt field, for example "warm autumn cozy colors".
- Set the number of colors with the slider. It goes from 1 to 25.
- Complete the short verification check.
- Click "Generate Palette".
- Choose the output format and copy each color with its copy button.
How to write a good prompt
The prompt is the only input, so a few extra words help a lot. "Spring" can mean anything. "Soft pastel spring garden" already has a mood, a subject, and an idea of how strong the colors are.
- Add a mood, not only a subject: calm, energetic, luxurious, playful.
- Add a style or a period: art deco, Scandinavian minimalist, retro 80s.
- Say where the colors will be used. "Wellness app interface" and "children's book cover" give very different palettes.
- Combine two ideas for a less common result, like "tropical paradise meets corporate elegance".
If the result is close but one color does not fit, change the prompt a little and generate again. This is faster than fixing one color by hand, and the new palette stays consistent.
How many colors to choose
Most projects need fewer colors than you think:
- Three for a simple website: a background, a text color, and one accent color.
- Five for an app or a brand: this leaves room for a second accent and a neutral color.
- More than five for illustrations, charts, or when you want a wide choice.
How to use the palette
Copy each color in the format your project uses. Websites usually use HEX or RGB. HSL is useful in design tools with hue and lightness sliders, because a lighter or darker version is one number away. HSV is there for the tools that use it.
Save the prompt together with the colors. When someone asks for "the same but warmer" later, you can start from the same prompt.
